The Bird & Bird Associates held an In Focus seminar entitled 'Forewarned is Forearmed: Dispute escalation and how to manage your risk' on Thursday 12 July 2012.

There are only a few weeks to go until the Olympics and the race is on to complete the final preparations. Interactive signs worth millions of pounds have been ordered and are due to be put up throughout London to direct spectators and athletes to venues all over the city. When the signs arrive some are not fit for purpose, but there is insufficient time to have these signs replaced before the torch reaches London. Inevitably, a dispute arises.

Associates from our Dispute Resolution group held a discussion of the practical and legal issues relating to the commencement and escalation of a dispute. We also outlined strategies for reaching early resolution and for risk management.
