Madrid team takes part in pro bono activity to mark European Data Protection Day
To raise awareness of data protection issues among teenagers and younger generations, our Spanish colleagues recently participated in a Madrid training event organised by the Regional Ministry of Education to mark European Data Protection Day.
Paula Fernández-Longoria,
Paola Montero and
Javier Fernandez-Samaniego gave a presentation on privacy issues to teenage students at an educational centre in Madrid. The session incorporated videos highlighting the risks of social networks and the importance of personal privacy.
The European Data Protection Day was first celebrated 30 years ago when the first legal instrument on data protection - Convention no. 108 on the protection of individuals with regard to the automated processing of personal data – was adopted in Strasbourg.
