Patrick has a wealth of experience in domestic and multinational tax-optimisation projects with a strong focus in our main technology-driven sectors.

Patrick is a partner at our office in Frankfurt and the head of the German Tax Group. He is also a member of the International Tax Group.

Patrick has broad experience in international tax projects in inbound and outbound transactions. Patrick has substantial expertise in tax-driven mergers and acquisitions (M&A), leveraged buyouts, restructuring transactions and funds formation. He also advises on tax aspects of research and development (R&D) optimisation, and tax-optimised domiciles of intellectual property (IP) companies. Patrick advises in tax-optimised structure of tax privileges of IP rights under specific jurisdictions and the relocation of IP rights amongst group companies taking into account licence-, franchise- and entrepreneur structures. He has structured information technology (IT) companies and renewable projects. In addition, Patrick has broad experience on the tax implications in our focused sectors of IT, IP and Energy and advises on the tax optimisation in these business fields.

Patrick is a regular contributor to legal journals and national daily newspapers as well as co-editor and author of a handbook on the European Stock Corporation (SE), on Tax M&A transactions and Tax due diligence. He is a member of the consulting committee for VAT issues with Management Circle and a member of the International Fiscal Association, the Rhineland-Palatine Tax Association, the Chartered Accountant Association Nordbaden, the Frankfurt Business Club and the Hessian Tax Association.
