Bálint joined Bird & Bird in 2008 after having worked at a Hungarian IP boutique law firm for four years. He has significant experience in intellectual property matters including patents, trademarks, copyright, designs, unfair competition and customs measures. Bálint has a degree in computer sciences. His practice areas include IP, IT, privacy and data protection law.

Bálint gained good experience in the protection and enforcement of IP rights, including infringement litigation, seizure and destruction of pirated and counterfeit products in customs procedures. He advises on high profile domain name matters under national and general top level domains.

Bálint also advised several media companies in various matters including the general terms and conditions, internal policies and various service contracts.

Bálint is currently finishing his doctoral thesis on the alternative dispute resolution proceedings in domain names at the University of Pécs (Hungary). He published several papers on domain names.

He is admitted to the Budapest Bar and is a member of the Hungarian Group of AIPPI, the Council of Copyright Experts, the Hungarian Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright, the Hungarian Trademark Association and the Hungarian Copyright Forum Association.
