Barry is a senior associate rated as a "rising star" for Computer and IT Law.

Barry is based in our London office where he advises clients on a full range of commercial legal issues. He specialises in outsourcing and ICT matters, business transformation projects and cloud computing. His current clients include banks, public sector organisations, aerospace companies and technology start-ups.

Experienced at helping clients face complex, emerging IT models,  Barry has advised on cloud computing, tower services, agile development and open source software projects. He was industry co-lead for the commercial strategy of the UK government's G-Cloud Programme, has led negotiations on many deals involving innovative IT solutions and regularly provides training to clients on these topics.

Barry has particular expertise in major transformation and outsourcing programmes – in both procurement and contract management. He spent 18 months on secondment as contract manager on an IT programme and 6 months at the Cabinet Office reviewing the UK public sector's largest outsourcing arrangements, recommending actions to improve performance and value for money.

With a growing practice in advising and mentoring technology start up clients, Barry is experienced in helping clients protect the core value of their businesses and prepare themselves for the journey they are starting upon.

As a result of completing 2 years of an MBA via a distance learning course with the Open University, Barry has gained a broad insight into corporate strategy, operations and project and corporate finance which have proven of value in his work on commercial and outsourcing matters.
