Fabian joined the Bird & Bird Düsseldorf office in October 2008. He focuses on German and European competition law as well as banking law. Before joining Bird & Bird, he worked in Frankfurt, Germany, in a law firm specialised in competition law and in the legal department of an international financial institution.

Fabian advises national and international companies in a variety of matters related to competition law and business law, focusing on the analysis and preparation of national and international concentrations including their notification with the German Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission, litigations related to competition law, competition law issues related to business contracts and distribution systems and the advisory of companies in proceedings before German and European competition authorities. Moreover, he advises clients in matters related to banking law, focusing on credit card law.

Fabian is a member of Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht (a German association of lawyers specialising in competition law) and the German-Brazilian Lawyers’ Association.

From 1996 through 2001, he joined law school at the University of Cologne, Germany, where he worked as a scientific assistant at the Chair of Constitutional and Administrative Law. Fabian is a German native speaker and fluent in English and Portuguese.
