Friedrich is a German and European patent attorney and represents clients in the filed of Intellectual Property law in particular in the Electronics, Communications and Information Technologies sectors. He is a member of the IP group of Bird & Bird in Munich.

His technical focus is in the field of telecommunications, video, semiconductor and software technology.

He has gained a broad experience in the European and German patent and trade mark practice through representing clients in patent, trade mark and utility model prosecution as well as in opposition and nullity proceedings. Friedrich also closely collaborates with the Bird & Bird lawyers in infringement proceedings. In addition, Friedrich has vast experience in advising clients e.g. in patent validity, infringement and German employee inventor’s law issues. He is admitted to represent clients before the German Patent and Trade mark Office, the Federal Patent court, the Federal Supreme Court (in nullity proceedings), the European patent office and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market.

Friedrich studied physics at the Technical University Munich with a focus on semiconductor and laser physics and electrical engineering and obtained his Doctorate in Laser Physics.

Before joining Bird & Bird, he worked for Matsushita Electric Works AG (later Panasonic Electric Works Europe AG) and AG (later Brainforce).

Friedrich is a member of the FICPI and the German Intellectual Property and Copyright Association (GRUR) and IEEE.
