Henriette Picot advises suppliers and users of software and IT services on national and international agreements (focussing on licensing, distribution, software development and other IT projects, online commerce, cloud computing, software-as-a-service and legal issues with open source software), outsourcing transactions and managed services agreements, as well as regulatory issues, in particular data protection and data security. She assists clients in IT disputes before regular courts and in arbitration proceedings.

Henriette studied law at the universities of Freiburg, Seville and Dresden and was a research assistant at the universities of Freiburg and Dresden. Henriette completed her legal training in Munich and Sydney. She wrote her doctorate thesis on German copyright law as a research scholar at the Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property in Munich and was awarded her doctorate by the Technical University Dresden. She joined Bird & Bird's German IT/Outsourcing Practice Group at the beginning of 2006.

She speaks German, English, French and Spanish.
