Ivan coordinates teams of lawyers to provide excellent legal solutions and deliver outstanding client service.

Ivan heads our offices in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

He is also a head of Czech and Slovak Banking and Finance and Corporate Groups and a co-head of the firm’s local Energy and Utilities Group.

Ivan has in-depth legal expertise primarily in banking and finance (acquisitions and project finance, capital markets, insurance and regulatory matters), corporate (mergers, corporate reorganizations, liquidations, acquisitions, disposals and takeover bids) and real estate (purchase and sale agreements, leases, landlord/tenant issues and property development).

Ivan has been representing both domestic as well as international clients from a number of industry sectors, including financial services, real estate and construction, energy, oil and gas, information technology, telecommunications and media, automotive, life sciences, aviation, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) as well as government/public sector institutions.

Prior to joining us, Ivan had spent more than 14 years in one of the largest law firms in Prague, where he has been a partner responsible primarily for the corporate/mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and banking and finance areas. Ivan regularly contributes to legal publications, and is often quoted in legal commentaries as well as in prestigious business media. He also regularly participates in activities of Association for Corporate Growth, the Czech Venture Capital Association and Association for Capital Market, and in addition is a member of a Disciplinary Committee of Czech Bar Association.

In addition to his native Slovak, Ivan speaks fluent English and Czech, and has a good working command of Russian.
