Susan has an excellent reputation as a leading employment, corporate / merger & acquisitions, and environmental lawyer

Susan is a founding partner of ATMD Bird & Bird LLP and heads the Corporate and Commercial Group in Singapore.  She was the managing partner of the Firm from 1999 to 2004.

With more than 20 years of experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer in Singapore and England, Susan has been consistently recognised as a leading individual for labour & employment law, corporate/mergers and acquisitions,  and environmental law. Her practice focuses primarily on these areas, and includes competition (anti-trust) law.

Susan is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

Between 1987 and 1989, Susan worked in the London office of an international law firm, handling mainly public and private mergers and acquisitions. In 1998, Susan was admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales.

Susan serves as a member of a number of professional committees and industry groups, including as director of the Singapore Environmental Council since 1996, and council member of the Singapore Sustainable Energy Association. She is the co-author of “Business Guide to Competition Law”, published by Sweet & Maxwell in 2011 and a contributor to the chapter on Singapore employment laws of the “International Labor and Employment Laws” (Third Edition, Vol. IIB).
