Welcome
This month's bulletin is organised around the general theme of e-commerce to complement the publication of Julian Hickey's book, "Internet Business: Commerce and Tax" (see below). We have articles on the tax implications of cloud computing in Germany, French VAT on e-books, an update on the soon-to-be-introduced Patent Box regime in the UK and on UK VAT on internet finance activities.
In addition, there are articles on Spanish indirect taxation on renewable energies activities and a reminder of the naming and shaming regimes for tax defaulters. We also set out recent developments in the International Tax Group.

Internet Business: Commerce and Tax
 |
London Tax partner Julian Hickey has recently published "Internet Business: Commerce and Tax" together with Colin Kendon (Employee Incentives and Benefits Partner). The book is a practical guide to the taxation of internet business activities, and should be the first point of reference for all those involved with advising such businesses. It provides an up-to-date overview of the main tax issues.
This is the second edition of the well received e-commerce: law, business and tax planning. In the ten years which have passed since the first edition was published and the dotcom bubble burst, tax has been a constant issue for all internet based businesses and transactions. This book examines the direct tax and VAT issues relevant to all the important areas of internet business. |
Copies are available from www.jordanpublishing.co.uk
