Food & Beverage

Our international Food & Beverage Group provides domestic and multi-national businesses involved in the manufacture, supply, distribution and sale of food and drink with a full range of IP, competition, customs, corporate, commercial, tax and other legal services.

The Food & Beverage sector is experiencing unprecedented scrutiny, consumer demands and competitive pressures, as it responds to high profile issues such as the increase of national and EU regulations, environment, fair trade, food miles, novel and functional foods, the influence of GM, agricultural subsidies as well as public health concerns about childhood obesity, nutritional values, product safety, advertising and labelling.

Our clients represent all parts of the sector, including producers of food, scientific based (biotech) companies, manufacturers of packaging, as well as distributors, supermarkets and specialist retailers.

The Group comprises experienced lawyers in all of our offices across Europe and Asia, all of whom have a detailed understanding of the sector and its challenges, as well as first-rate skills in IP, EU/competition, customs and trade, corporate, commercial, media, advertising, employment, tax, outsourcing and other specialist legal areas.

Our work also includes patent and trademark litigation, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as advising on specialist issues such as food and drink advertising and labelling, overcoming import and export issues involving customs, EU and competition law, IP protection of products and processes. We advise on regulatory demands including those dealing with food safety issues involving product recalls and labelling.

Clients come to us because we combine leading legal expertise with a genuine appreciation of the key drivers of their business.
