Chris joined Bird & Bird in January 2007 and works within the International Commercial Group.

Chris specialises in advising customers and suppliers involved in large scale, complex outsourcing transactions including both IT and business process transactions and including both on shore and off shore agreements. In relation to IT outsourcing, he has advised on a number of data centre, desktop, application development and network IT outsourcings, some of which are amongst the largest transactions of their kind in the UK and Europe. In relation to business process transactions, he has advised on finance and accounting, HR, logistics, payroll and property outsourcings for clients in the fields of telecommunications, IT, pharmaceuticals, retail, airline and financial services.

Aside from outsourcing, Chris also advises on range on non-contentious IT related agreements, including infrastructure and commercial issues relating to the Internet, website development and hosting, systems integration projects, procurement, software licensing, development and maintenance and general commercial terms and conditions and issues regarding e-commerce transactions.

Chris has over 15 years of experience in this area, having previously been a partner at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, a partner at outsourcing specialists Shaw Pittman and also an in-house lawyer specialising in outsourcing at IBM, both in the UK and in South Africa.
