James joined Bird & Bird as a trainee in September 2006 and qualified into the International Commercial group in September 2008.  He joined the Abu Dhabi office in March 2011.

James regularly advises public and private sector clients on a wide range of commercial and legal issues, including outsourcing, information technology, infrastructure, contract management and other general commercial matters.  He has also recently completed two secondments, one to a large telecommunications company in the UK working within its major programme team and one to a leading airline in the Middle East.

James has also advised a number of commercial and military clients on regulatory and export control issues arising from their technological initiatives.
