Nick graduated from Warwick University in 2005 with an LLB in European Law and joined Bird & Bird as a trainee in 2007. He qualified as a solicitor in the Intellectual Property group in 2009 and is based in the London office.
Nick works on a wide range of intellectual property matters. His recent litigation experience includes Corevalve v Edwards Lifesciences, Gemstar v Virgin Media, and a large multijurisdictional patent action for a world leading telecommunications company.
Nick is a fluent German speaker and during his training contract undertook a 3 month secondment at our offices in Germany. He has studied at Nagoya University in Japan, speaks Japanese to intermediate level and is a member of the British Japanese Law Association.
He has contributed to a number of legal publications including the ITMA Review and the Society for Computers and Law Journal and is a regular contributor of trade mark case reviews for CIPA.
