Johannes is a member of the Bird & Bird Intellectual Property Law practice group. His work focuses on Patent and Utility Model Law.
Johannes studied law at the Universities of Bonn, Paris (Sciences Po) and Lausanne. He worked for the Center for European Integration Studies and for the Chair for law of civil procedure of the University of Bonn. He was a fellow of the post-graduate programme of the University of Bonn and was awarded his doctor’s degree with a dissertation on patent securitization in 2009. Johannes gained a Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Düsseldorf.
During his legal traineeship with the Hamburg Higher Regional Court, Johannes worked for international law firms in Hamburg and London as well as for the German Embassy in the Republic of Ireland. Johannes was admitted to the Düsseldorf Bar in 2010.
Apart from his native language German Johannes is fluent in English and French. He is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (GRUR).
