Beate is a member of Bird & Bird’s Intellectual Property and Competition Law Practice Group. She mainly works in the field of patent law.

Beate graduated from the University of Münster. Subsequently, she earned an LL.M. in Commercial Law from the University of Auckland (New Zealand) as well as an LL.B. from the Griffith University Brisbane (Australia). During her legal traineeship in Düsseldorf, she focused primarily on Intellectual Property matters, particularly on patent law.

Beate is fluent in English and a certified translator under Australian law. In May 2012, she was admitted by the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf as a legal interpreter and translator for the English language. She has been admitted to the bar in July 2011 and has been working for Bird & Bird since.

She is a member of the German Intellectual Property and Copyright Association (GRUR) as well as of the German Lawyer’s Association (DAV).
