Teresa Mercadal holds a degree in Law and Business Administration obtained from the Autonomous University of Madrid (Extraordinary Prize). In 2008 she obtained a postgraduate degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies.

She joined Bird & Bird (Spain) LLP office in August 2007, having worked since July 2006 as a trainee in the Intellectual Property group at Bird & Bird (Spain) LLP. 

She lectured about IP matters and also wrote some articles regarding IP and Life Science.
