Valérie Budd’s practice is focused on the area of intellectual property, in which she acts both as counsel and as litigator.
In this scope, Valérie deals with all intellectual property related issues, including trademark law and domain names, copyrights, and patent law. She is also experienced in consumer law (advertising, promotion, and loyalty program clearance; advertising and sponsorship agreements; litigation related to these matters).
Valérie assists clients in defining a strategy to protect their IP assets, particularly through the audit of their IP portfolio. Valérie has strong experience in trademark and domain name management (clearance searches, filings, renewals, registrations, opposition proceedings, and/or action for voidance in France and Europe). She also intervenes in the drafting and negotiation of contracts concerning the operating of IP assets (trademarks, patents, domain names, copyrights) such as license, assignment, and coexistence agreements, as well as distribution agreements.
Valerie also provides assistance in the scope of all legal actions and/or negotiations of out-of-court settlements related to infringement, passing-off, unfair competition, or parasitism issues, as well as other forms of alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration or mediation.
Valérie regularly publishes IP-related articles, notably in publications such as Internet Marchand, Managing IP, CRI, and Pharma Marketing Europe.
