At Bird & Bird our aim is to help our clients to avoid disputes where possible and to help to manage them to best business advantage when they arise. We recognise that clients’ approaches to dispute resolution vary depending on the nature of their business and the nature of the dispute. In addition culture and jurisdiction(s) in which businesses operate will often dictate the manner of resolution. We recognise that for some clients where business continuity is critical they may wish to pursue a conciliatory method of dispute resolution while other clients may favour litigation or arbitration particularly when the financial stakes are high or a precedent or principle is important to their business. 

Bird & Bird’s International Dispute Resolution Practice consists of lawyers located across Europe and in Asia who are skilled in providing risk management and corporate governance advice in addition to running all forms of dispute resolution including litigation, arbitration and ADR. The group is experienced in running both national disputes and complex multi-jurisdictional disputes as well as providing strategic advice on the pros and cons of resolving a dispute in one jurisdiction over another.
