Bird & Bird ATMD has acted for a consortium led by SGX-listed Cityneon Holdings Ltd's ("Cityneon") management, in the acquisition of a 52.51% stake in Cityneon for S$115.61 million from Star Media Group, one of the largest publication and printing companies in Malaysia.
Cityneon has business segments including the organisation of events and exhibitions such as the Marvel Avengers exhibitions in many countries. The acquisition triggered a mandatory takeover and Bird & Bird ATMD consequently acted as offeror counsel in the mandatory offer of a value of approximately S$115 million. The transaction demonstrated the team's core corporate expertise and our sectoral focus on media and entertainment.
