Bird & Bird expands its Tech & Comms group with the appointment of partner Jan Ussing Andersen in Copenhagen

International law firm Bird & Bird today expands its Tech & Comms group with the appointment of partner Jan Ussing Andersen in Copenhagen.

Jan has more than 15 years' experience and joins from the TMT group of Kromann Reumert, one of the largest TMT practice groups in the Nordics. He handles all types of matters related to outsourcing and technology, with a particular focus on regulated sectors including telecoms and finance. He has advised on a number of landmark deals in the Danish market. Jan's work is broader than typical legal services, advising clients on matters such as deal structure, service models, organisation of outsourced functions as well as procurement process strategy and management.

The appointment of Jan is a key part of the wider strategy for the Tech & Comms sector group: to further bolster the group's capabilities, particularly in IT and Outsourcing, and provide a full service offering in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Casper Moltke-Leth and Peter Jorgensen, co-heads of the Copenhagen office at Bird & Bird say: "We are delighted to welcome Jan to Bird & Bird. As one of the few international law firms in Denmark, we support some of the largest Danish businesses on matters outside of Denmark. With Jan on board, we can put additional muscle behind such efforts as part of our wider strategy to position Bird & Bird as the go-to law firm when it comes to larger outsourcing and tech deals in Denmark."

Fabian Niemann, co-head of the Tech & Comms sector group at Bird & Bird says: "Jan's reputation and experience in tendering services for large technology and outsourcing projects will further strengthen our leading Tech & Comms bandwidth in Europe and in particular our unique capabilities in the Nordic and Baltic regions. It's a pleasure to welcome Jan to the team and we look forward to having him on board."

Jan adds: "Bird & Bird's global presence will enable me to build my practice in both local and international markets. I'm very much looking forward to working with my new colleagues in the Tech & Comms team at Bird & Bird, both in Copenhagen and across the firm's network, to position Bird & Bird as the number one law firm advising businesses on technology and outsourcing matters."
