Felix Spindler, LL.M.

As an associate and member of our Düsseldorf Corporate/M&A practice group, I advise both national and international clients on M&A transactions, structural measures and all corporate law related aspects.

The focus of my work is advising strategic investors on both domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. In addition, I advise on corporate restructurings as well as on all other corporate and commercial law aspects. Furthermore, I am a member of the firm-wide Legal Tech Group and as such involved in developing innovative approaches of providing future-oriented legal advice to our clients.

Following my law studies, I completed a postgraduate degree (LL.M.) with a focus on corporate law in England. During my legal clerkship, I gained experience in corporate law and advising on M&A transactions, inter alia, at a major law firm in Düsseldorf.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked for a major law firm in Düsseldorf and later for the firm in the corporate law/M&A practice group while working on my PhD thesis.

• Advised Index Ventures as lead investor on the $300 million investment round of DeepL, a leading German-based Language AI company, at a $2 billion valuation.
• Advised Gamma Communications plc (Gamma) on the acquisition of the German Placetel Business, including all shares in BroadSoft Germany GmbH (in future Gamma Placetel GmbH) from its sole shareholder BroadSoft UK Holding Company Ltd., a subsidiary of Cisco.
• Advised Reichmuth on its investment in a joint venture for the construction of a new 100 MW battery storage plant in Bavaria in together with the energy companies Bayernwerk and Zukunftsenergie Nordostbayern GmbH (ZENOB).
• Advised UNITED Marketing Technologies by DuMont on their acquisition of a majority stake in artegic, a leading Software as a Service provider of real-time marketing automation software.
• Advised Hy24 and Mirova on their record investment of 200 million Euro in green hydrogen pioneer Hy2gen AG in partnership with CDPQ and Technip Energies.
• Advised Hy24, the world's largest clean hydrogen investment platform, on its 70 million Euro investment in Berlin-based H2 MOBILITY Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, the leading operator of hydrogen refueling stations.
• Advised Azolver Holding GmbH on the sale of its subsidiaries in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, and Sweden to the listed Francotyp-Postalia group.
• Advised ALD Automotive on the acquisition of Fleetpool, a leading German car subscription company, and its portfolio of 10,000 vehicles.
