Dark Patterns: Recent trends and legislative developments – what do they mean for your business? Webinar

We are delighted to invite you to a webinar on the latest developments in dark patterns.

In simple terms, dark patterns are deceptive design techniques and practices used in digital interfaces (websites, mobile apps etc.) to manipulate and trick users into taking certain actions that they may not have intended or desired.

Since the regulation directly prohibiting dark patterns – the Digital Services Act – came into force in November 2022 (and has applied in full across the EU from 17 February 2024), regulatory authorities have come out strongly against such behaviour and will continue to be active in the months ahead.

Businesses using online platforms and other digital interfaces must be more careful not to use dark patterns to deceive or manipulate consumers. In this webinar, we will explore:

- The concept of dark patterns under the recent EU legislation, including the Digital Services Act.
- Recent trends in dark pattern enforcement in: Germany, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Poland and the UK.

This will be followed by a Q&A session to ensure that we have covered all matters relevant to your business.
