In August 2019, Michael Gassner and Marijana Bilos in our Munich office organised and presented a training event for Start Right, an association of local law students that offers pro bono legal advice for social projects.
The team has been working with the group for around a year assisting them with various cases, such as Zukunftsbauer, an education initiative aiming to design and develop interactive classroom concepts to enhance study and career orientation.
Student advisors from Start Right visited our Munich office, where team members gave a presentation on the different legal forms of German entities, with particular focus on legal forms for tax-privileged social purposes. We also ran a workshop where students had to solve different example cases.
We have been advising Youth For Understanding (YFU) on data protection and copyright issues since 2010.
We have also helped the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI) negotiate sponsorship and licence agreements, and trademark protection.
Partners Martin Nebeling and Jiri Jaeger and Associate Björn Schigulski have recently advised sports club Turnverein Ratingen on employment and corporate matters. The advice related to the sports club's new foundation which will help give children and adolescents from socially disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to participate in popular sports. The opportunity came about thanks to Martin's connections with the sports club's committee through his involvement with the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
