My adventure with Bird & Bird started when I realised I joined a firm where the principle of managing by values actually takes place, people are driven and open-minded.
The firm provides a broad range of services to clients where support staff can take part in the delivery. I also like the firm’s global coverage. I can talk to my peers on the other side of the world, from all walks of life. My participation in the mentoring program as a mentee has been one of the recent highlights. The firm strives to create a truly equitable workplace for all. There is more to Bird & Bird than just its legal excellence.
How has working at B&B enhanced your career?
Before joining the firm, I worked for several renowned local law firms for over a decade. I started as a PA in a Compliance and WCC team and soon realised I wanted to increase my education in the fields of Compliance and Communications while completing my cultural and integration programmes. Bird & Bird allowed me to combine my professional passions - I now work in an international and multicultural environment that honours diversity & inclusion. After returning from my maternity leave, I accepted a new role as a member of our local Risk & Compliance team where I can support our integrity and act as an ambassador and watchman for the firm and its clients.
A piece of work you undertook @B&B that you were particularly proud of.
I can immediately think of drafting and publishing a number of localised policies and procedures, being part of a team that works towards increasing our awareness of corporate governance, potential risks and pitfalls in the changing corporate landscape, and improving my language and communication skills that are key in delivering the intended messages to the intended audience. I face these day-to-day challenges with great joy.
