In November 2018, two new laws were passed in France to fight 'fake news' and place obligations on online platforms to ensure transparency between online operators and advertisers, as well as providing the option for users to report content as potentially fake or misleading. In a time when 'fake news' seems to be a regular topic of conversation, it will be interesting to see how 'anti fake news' laws develop in the future, and if other countries adopt similar measures.
