Navigating the Future of AI: EU Commission Guidelines on Prohibited Practices
On 13 November 2024, the European Commission's Artificial Intelligence Office launched a consultation on critical aspects of the EU AI Act, including the definition of AI systems and prohibited practices. The consultation aimed to gather practical examples and input from stakeholders to inform the Commission's guidelines on these areas.
Although AI systems and prohibited AI practices are already defined in the AI Act, the consultation sought to provide further clarity on practical implementation. The consultation closed on 11 December 2024 and the resulting guidelines will assist national competent authorities, providers and deployers in complying with the AI Act's rules on prohibited AI practices which apply from 2 February 2025.
