Programmes and services for music generation using AI have spread across the globe. A common assumption is: AI output does not enjoy copyright protection and is free to use. This turns out to be a widespread misconception that we will address in our webinar from a U.S., UK and Continental European perspective. Authors, performers, producers of sound recordings, broadcasters and other parties indeed regularly acquire exclusive rights to compositions and recordings even when AI technology is used. We will discuss rights and risks from both sides: artists and users.
