This edition will revolve around trends in Payments and FinTech, the area of expertise of Gidget Brugman,  our Financial Services Regulatory partner. These days, truly everyone is dealing with payments, whether from a business (B2B) or consumer (B2C) perspective. The presentations tie in with this, making this relevant and interesting for everyone. Esther Groen (Executive Board member at the European Women Payments Network) will focus on the latest trends in FinTech and payments. Bird & Bird lawyer Daniëlle van de Vijver will present on payments in the retail sector.

REM

The event will be held at the former REM island which was a platform on the North Sea, 9 kilometres off the coast of Noordwijk. The platform was the base for (illegal) commercial tv broadcasters named TV North Sea way back in 1964. Nowadays it's an inspirational location on the IJ river with an amazing view over Amsterdam.

Esther Groen

Esther Groen is an Executive Board member at the European Women Payments Network. She has an extensive background in strategy (execution), sales & business development, digital transformation and building high performing teams in the Banking and Fintech industry. Esther is currently Head of Payments Centre of Excellence at Icon Solutions, a leading specialist provider of services and technology solutions that are simplifying banking transformation.
