Bird & Bird Media Seminar in The Hague: a must go event!

As a partner in our Dispute Resolution Practice and co-head of our Media Group in the Netherlands, based in The Hague, I specialise in civil litigation, with a particular focus on Media, Internet and IT.
The yearly Bird & Bird Media Seminar hosted in The Hague is quickly becoming a must go event. On 11 October 2016 a record number of media professionals engaged in lively discussions on various hot topics such as the EU reform of the Digital Single Market and the consequences of a Brexit for the media industry.
We welcomed more than 55 CEOs, legal counsel and policy officers from different national and international media companies.
Participants could choose two of the following four sessions:
- Reform European copyright – led by Wieke During and Thijs van den Heuvel
- Brexit and the media – led by Jacques Pelkmans (CEPS)
- Reform EU directive AVMS – led by Paul Waszink and Jorn van Steenis
- New EU guidelines for online platforms – led by Roelien van Neck and Olaf Trojan
