In July 2020, the European Data Protection Board (“EDPB”) published its guidelines on the interplay between PSD2 and GDPR for public consultation. Bird & Bird has filed a response to such public consultation which covers the topics that will have a greater impact on the payments industry. The response has been prepared on behalf of numerous clients of Bird & Bird and seeks to have more clarity from the EDPB to help organisations understand their compliance obligations in Open Banking.
