The UPC Preparatory Committee has published the implementation roadmap for the UPC, confirming it is on track for the Court to open for business and start receiving cases on 1 April 2023.
The implementation roadmap describes key activities and milestones of the UPC over the next few months, including:
Global milestones – such as German ratification and the start of the Sunrise Period, which is expected to be 1 January 2023.
Recruitment activities – including recruitment of judges, election of Presidents (for Court of First Instance and Court of Appeal), administrative staff etc.
Case Management System activities and milestones – including CMS self-practice (where users will have the opportunity to use and practice the CMS on their own) and Sunrise CMS practice.
Besides the roadmap, the UPC has announced a new website that will launch on 7 November 2022, with a new design and functionality including information on:
Court locations and Registry contact information.
Various legal documents.
Pages for official communications.
Vacancies.
Information about judges.
