Bird & Bird assists when Tencent invests in 10 Chambers

Bird & Bird has assisted Swedish game studio 10 Chambers when Tencent acquires a major stake of the company. The investment makes it possible for 10 Chambers to realize their ambitious long-term vision.

10 Chambers was founded in 2015 and the Stockholm based studio launched their successful first title GTFO on Steam's Early Access in December 2019.  GTFO is a survival horror 4 player first-person shooter cooperative game, focusing on team play and atmosphere. It features edge-of-your-seat suspense, team-based puzzle-solving and high-intensity combat. Pre-release, in 2018, GTFO was named Best Cooperative Game at the DualShockers’ E3 awards[1].

Bird & Bird has a long history of working with and advising the Swedish gaming industry, having particular insight in the special conditions and challenges presented to this sector.

Ulf Andersson, CEO at 10 Chambers comments: “Bird & Bird’s advice and guidance through these past months have been crucial to make this exciting next step for us possible. We could not be more pleased with the support we have gotten from the team from start to finish - one would hope that all law firms would act with similar “sisu” as Bird & Bird does.”

Partner Monique Wadsted has a long client relationship with 10 Chambers, and the transaction was co-lead by partners Mårten Willamo and Hans Svensson, supported by Sofia Ekeryd, Sebastian Westerling, Ellen Nordell, Carl-Magnus Uggla, Ottilia Boström, Rebecca Fassihi, Karin Söderberg, Karin Tukiainen and Simon Söderholm
