Bird & Bird advises Jobandtalent on €88m venture capital funding round

The Bird & Bird Corporate team advised Madrid-based Jobandtalent on their €88 million Series C round top-up. This financing follows on from the company's Series C financing, which Bird & Bird advised on and closed in 2019. Existing investors from the initial Series C round Atomico, SEEK, DN Capital, FJ Labs and Kibo Ventures, among others, participated in this round, together with new investor, InfraVia, a French €5bn technology focused fund.

Jobandtalent is a world-leading digital temp staffing marketplace, achieving in 2020 half a billion Euros in revenue run-rate. The ‘Workforce as a Service’ platform has gained the attention of investors due to its successful response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the labour market; Jobandtalent provides temporary workers greater job security and legal protection. The company is proposing to utilise the funds raised to push growth in existing markets as well as to expand into new ones. Currently more than 750 companies use the Jobandtalent platform recurrently to manage a large part of their workforce, amongst which there are names such as XPO, Ocado, Saint Gobain, Santander, Bayer, eBay, Huawei, Ceva Logistics and Carrefour.

Jobandtalent was advised by partners Struan Penwarden and Mark Rundall, and associates Joseph Stolerman and Mark Penwarden.

Edouard Peers, General Counsel / VP of Legal at Jobandtalent says: "We were delighted to work with the Bird & Bird team on this transaction and they have been of great support to us as we have grown over the last few years. Having commercial lawyers is always important especially for high growth companies."

Struan Penwarden, Corporate Partner at Bird & Bird adds: “We are proud to have assisted Jobandtalent on this important transaction. Bird & Bird has worked side-by-side with Jobandtalent for the last 3 years supporting their incredible growth trajectory and expansion across Europe and Latin America. The Series C funding from InfraVia Capital Partners presented a global transaction with an excellent result for all parties involved. This is a prime example of Bird & Bird’s strong capacity in the area of cross-border transactions, Venture Capital and Tech.”
