International law firm Bird & Bird and their consulting arm OXYGY today announce together with the European Commission that the selection phase for the third cohort has now come to a close, following another competitive selection process. The team are pleased to present the use cases selected for the 3rd cohort of sandbox dialogues.
The selection team, led by blockchain experts from Warren Brandeis and overseen by a panel of independent academics consisting of Professor Roman Beck (Bentley University, USA), Professor Soulla Louca (University of Nicosia, Cyprus), and Professor Walter Blocher (Universities of Kassel), have worked hard to select this year’s cohort of use cases, applying their rigorous Selection Criteria, which are available to view on the website. The overall high quality of applicants makes for a competitive selection process, and the team are very encouraged to see the continued growth of blockchain innovation across the EU/EEA.
One use case of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure has been approved by the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) for participation in the lot for public entities, and 19 additional use cases were selected in accordance with a carefully curated selection process. The selected use cases span all EU/EEA regions and represent a wide range of industry sectors and regulatory topics.
We are pleased to share with you these use cases (where applicable with their consortium partners) below:
Decentralized Consulting AB (Kunveno Teknologos)
Frictionless Markets Sarl (Frictionless Group Holdings Sarl)
Fundación Tecnalia Research & Innovation
Multiclau, S.L (Privado iD, Privately SA)
For more information on each of these use cases, please visit the news item on the European Blockchain Sandbox website here.
Once the matching process for the third group of use cases is completed, the confidential regulatory dialogues will begin. Once these dialogues have concluded, a report will be published sharing the regulatory best practices identified for the 3rd cohort.
