Bird & Bird LLP welcomes renowned employment lawyer Dr. Barbara Geck as a new partner based in Frankfurt. Employment associate Daniela Gudat joins her, and will also be based in Frankfurt.
Dr. Barbara Geck specialises in employment law and has more than 18 years' experience in the field. Prior to joining, she was a partner at King & Wood Mallesons (formerly SJ Berwin) and headed the German employment group. She started her career at Noerr, followed by eight years as an associate and counsel with Hengeler Mueller. During this time she worked for Slaughter and May in London on a one-year secondment. In 2007, she became a partner at Beiten Burkhard and, two years later, joined JUSTEM, an independent law firm specialising in employment law.
Barbara advises her clients in all fields of collective and individual employment law. Her areas of expertise include transaction-related employment law, the restructuring and reorganisation of companies, and co-determination issues. She also advises private equity firms and their portfolio companies on all aspects of employment law and on issues in relation to management and executive board members. In terms of sector, her focus lies on national and international companies in the fields of IT and technology, the metal and automobile industry, and the banking and financial services sector.
Daniela Gudat also joins from King & Wood Mallesons, where she has been based since October 2013. Prior to this she worked as an in-house counsel for Charité CFM GmbH in Berlin for just over six years.
