About Me

I am a Of Counsel in Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property/Dispute Resolution department in the Madrid office.

My practice covers all IP-related matters including patents (in mechanical, chemical, electrical and biotechnology patent areas) as well as designs, trade marks, domain names, copyright and unfair competition, with particular expertise in trade secrets.
I'm very proud to be part of a top-ranked IP group with a market-leading reputation for Intellectual Property, helping both domestic and international clients navigate the constantly evolving legal and commercial issues facing this exciting area of law.

I have a broad practice, covering all areas of IP, advertising, unfair competition and trade secrets and I advise clients on the creation and evaluation of their IP, through exploitation, defence and enforcement where necessary. Within my practice area I also have wide experience in trade secrets litigation.

A key sector for me is advising retail and consumer-facing clients, particularly global fashion brands and also consumer goods businesses and food and beverage producers. This experience has come from being a key legal adviser to some of the largest leading fashion retailers in Europe over a 20 year period.

My clients depend on me when they are expanding their business internationally. Our international team is key to helping me deliver a smooth and seamless service.

In recent years I have been handling complex disputes relating to IP rights and feedback from my clients usually highlights my performance in the courts noting it makes them 'feel confident'.

Because of my strong litigation profile, I also work with clients in litigation and dispute resolution outside of the realms of IP. This has included the renowned Musaat case, on which I obtained a successful result for the client and which is one of the most important anti-trust enforcement actions in Spain.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked for eleven years in the intellectual property department of a well known Spanish law firm. I also worked as a foreign lawyer in the patent department of a US law firm. Our international network, the people and the innovative and forward thinking nature were undoubtedly the key reasons why I joined Bird & Bird.
