Aubrey Tao

I am a member of the firm's Aviation team, based in Shanghai. I have extensive experience in aircraft financing and leasing transactions (both domestic and cross-border) as well as aviation related compliance matters and commercial projects.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked for one of the leading leasing companies in China as a senior in-house counsel, responsible for numerous aircraft financing and leasing transactions (both domestic and cross-border).

My legal career started in 2011 with a major Chinese airline, where I developed particular passion and experience in the aviation industry, focusing primarily on the airline's international projects and being closely involved in aircraft purchase & lease, merger & acquisition, alliance & joint venture and compliance matters.

Over the years, I have worked exclusively on aviation related matters. I was lucky not only to witness but also to be involved in the growth and prosperity of the aviation industry, which represents the valuable spirit of our generation: exploration, adventure and getting people together.
