Alexandra Esmel

As an associate in the Corporate and Project Group in Paris and Casablanca, I specialize in M&A transactions and energy & infrastructure projects in France and Africa, with a particular focus on OHADA jurisdictions.

I assist economic stakeholders in all aspects of the negotiation, conclusion, and performance of M&A transactions (sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, majority or minority investments, and reorganizations) and energy & infrastructure projects (clean energy, oil & gas, power plants, PPPs, etc.).

I also regularly assist our national and international clients in the drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial contracts (service contracts, supply contracts, and distribution contracts) or strategic partnerships in various business sectors.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I gained valuable experience in Paris and New York, working on international M&A transactions, including the operational implementation of international projects. I have since developed expertise in mining and energy-related projects.

I hold an LL.M in International Economic Law from the University of Maastricht and a Master in European law from the University of Paris I Sorbonne.

I speak French, English and Spanish.
