Catharina Baerselman

I am head of the Public Projects and Procurement practice in Stockholm and also specialise in dispute resolution.

After some years with my own specialist law firm advising a group of clients on public procurement matters, I have returned to Bird & Bird's Stockholm office in a senior counsel role, where I previously was partner, and head of the Public Procurement group. I have extensive experience in public procurement matters in all sectors (classic, utilities, defence/security and concessions), giving advice to suppliers and contracting authorities throughout the whole procurement procedure, including assisting in negotiating and contract support. I am frequently engaged as counsel in public procurement proceedings in administrative courts and general courts and regularly hold seminars on public procurement.

With a solid background as associate and partner in highly ranked dispute resolution boutiques, I am experienced in commercial dispute resolution/litigation as counsel in general/administrative courts and arbitral tribunals.

Having advised and worked with some of the largest Swedish public procurement authorities and entities as well as larger Swedish and European suppliers, parallel to giving general commercial legal advice and acting as dispute resolution counsel in courts and arbitral tribunals, I have a good understanding of the clients' needs and businesses. I have experience from a wide range of branches such as IT, medtech, construction, technology, quality of life services, energy, defence/security and sports.
