Dr. Felix Hempel, LL.M. (Norwich)

As an attorney in our Frankfurt office, I advise clients on all matters relating to information and data protection law.

Working as part of our Commercial practice group, I support clients both in complying with requirements under data protection law and in implementing projects in the technology sector. I also advise clients in matters concerning digital media, IT security and telecommunications law.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked as a legal officer in the policy department at the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Previously, I specialised in data protection law over the course of my LL.M. studies and doctoral thesis in the United Kingdom. During my legal clerkship in Frankfurt and London, I worked in the technology, media, and telecommunications practice group at another prestigious international law firm.

I am the author of various publications on data protection and media law, most recently in the new edition of the 'Auernhammer' data protection commentary. Due to my activities in research and teaching, I am a member of the Society of Legal Scholars in the United Kingdom.
