Dr. Jiri Jaeger

I am a partner in our Düsseldorf office where I am head of our German dispute resolution team, and a member of our international Dispute Resolution Practice Group, representing clients in complex litigation and arbitration matters.

In recent years, my work has included litigations and arbitrations in sectors including energy & utilities, planning, construction and infrastructure, as well as post-M&A disputes, internal investigations and advising in corporate crisis scenarios. My deep-level sector expertise enables me to understand the technical and commercial specificities of any given project, providing advice that goes beyond just the legal and contractual.

Speaking fluent German, English, Czech and French has helped me expand my client base to include international companies from Switzerland, France, UK and the US. I am also a partner in our German China Desk regularly providing advice on China-related mandates.

• Assisting Abellio in connection with damage claims resulting from a defective commercial unit construction. Value in dispute: EUR 1,5 m.
• Representing Katalyst Energy in a preliminary injunction proceeding and in DIS arbitration against a German energy company on the grounds of the planning, designing and manufacturing of wind turbines. Value in dispute: EUR 35 m.
• Representing a multinational telecommunications company as defendant in a court proceeding for the preservation of evidence. Plaintiff is a buyer of the company's products which stated that the products sold were not waterproof and did not correspond to the IP classification they had advertised. Value in dispute: EUR 2.5 m.
• Representing an international energy company in DIS arbitration proceedings in connection with the amendment of a long-term use agreement regarding utilisation rights for a pump storage powerplant with cross-border significance. Value in dispute: EUR 100 m.
