Julia Held

As an associate in our office in Düsseldorf and member of the Commercial Team as well as the Automotive Sector Group, I advise national and international companies on various aspects of commercial law.

My work mainly focuses on advising our clients (primarily suppliers) regarding warranty, product liability and general contract law issues. In addition, I support our clients in the drafting and review of complex commercial contracts and general terms and conditions.

I joined Bird & Bird after completing my Second State Exam in 2023. Alongside working as an associate, I am currently writing my dissertation on a certain type of contract in the German (automotive) industry at the University of Bonn

• Advising various automotive suppliers on the assertion of or defence against price adjustment claims, including the preparation of delivery stops as well as the filing of protective briefs.
• Review of and advice on purchasing conditions and other contractual documents of our clients' business partners.
• Advising an international automotive supplier (Tier-1) in connection with the termination of long-term supply contracts due to necessary factory closures.
• Representing a Tier-2 automotive supplier in a warranty case against a major German Tier-1 automotive supplier (arbitration).
