Julie Bak-Larsen

I am a partner in our international Tech & Comms Group in Denmark, with extensive experience in IT, technology, telecommunications and assisting companies internationally.

I specialise in IT, including advising on IT dispute resolution, IT acquisitions, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, cloud in general, implementation and operation, outsourcing and licensing, cybersecurity and general advice on IT contracts. We advise national, international, public and private clients, both on the supplier and customer side.

As Bird & Bird is a truly international firm, I assist Nordic based global companies internationally and ensure smooth international delivery within Bird & Bird's global reach. Bird & Bird's international Tech & Comms network provides the basis for insight into the forefront of the technological development and the legal opportunities and pitfalls that follows.

Telecommunication includes regulatory advice on data retention, registration and requirements relating to the provision of connectivity to end-users. Within the contractual area, experience includes set-ups related to MVNO, MVNE, NRI, sea-cables and other interconnection agreements. I have extensive experience in advising within all areas of the telecommunication sector, such as regulatory matters, contractual network planning and interconnection and data centre set-ups, including advice on colocation agreements.

My insight into technology and connectivity often brings me work where connectivity meets new technology and new sectors, including 5G, autonomous cars, telemedicine, robotics, IoT and satellite and space. Due to my long experience within both IT and telecommunications, I also advise on the interfaces of traffic data in relation to data retention, data protection, cyber security, IT security, data ownership and data breaches.

I advise companies in proactive cyber security in relation to security compliance, training, breaches, security by design and in connection with IT development and implementations, including within the various regulated sectors, such as the NIS affected sectors.
