Kacper Szymczak

I am a junior associate in our White-Collar Crime team in Warsaw.

I have been advising clients since 2020. I specialise in criminal law and criminal procedure, with a particular focus on business criminal law. I provide services to individual and corporate clients, representing them in criminal proceedings at every stage, from pre-trial to court proceedings to executive proceedings. I act both as defence attorney and attorney for the victims. I handle criminal cases involving, in particular, crimes against economic turnover, fraud in the financial market, money laundering offences, corruption offences, and crimes related to actions to the detriment of the company.

I advise corporate clients on mitigating criminal legal risks, participate in internal investigations at companies conducted in connection with suspected irregularities, and support clients in pending disciplinary proceedings conducted by professional self-government bodies and supervisory authorities.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I gained professional experience as part of the criminal law team at a renowned Polish law firm. I also worked at one of the Big 4 consultancies and other Polish law firms, gaining experience in civil law, banking law and M&A transactions.
