Ludwig Hastermann

As an associate in our privacy and data protection group in Düsseldorf, I advise our clients on all matters related to data protection, in particular the GDPR.

I particularly focus on (inter-)company privacy matters, international data transfers and GDPR compliance of new technical solutions. My work also covers advice on privacy notices, policies and procedures, data breaches or data protection impact assessments. Also, I advised on several complaint procedures with German and Austrian data protection authorities in the context of cookie banners. I assist our clients from various industry sectors such as media, retail & consumer, but also life sciences and health care.

• Before joining Bird & Bird I worked for a renowned Vienna based law firm focusing on data protection law and TMT matters. I inter alia assisted market leading retail and beverage producing companies in their day-to-day business with all kinds of data protection matters. Also I advised clients in the sector of energy supply and production, primarily focusing on data protection related questions in the context of regulated industries.
