I am an Associate in the newly established Employment Law Department in Dublin.
I advise domestic and international clients, employers and employees on all aspects of Irish employment law. My experience includes advising global clients in the tech, media, financial, retail sectors and domestic clients in the public sector and charity sector in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
I studied in both Ireland and the USA. My career to date includes working in law firms in the Ireland and the USA, the UN Courts in Cambodia (ECCC) and the Irish Law Reform Commission. I am a qualified New York Attorney and an Irish Solicitor. I trained and qualified in a top Irish commercial law firm, which included a secondment in EMEA headquarters of a global social media company. Prior to joining Bird and Bird LLP, I was the policy advisor to a member of the Irish government, Minister Catherine Martin T.D., (Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media).
I advise employers on a broad range of issues that arise in the workplace. I work closely with senior executives, legal counsel and HR managers of multinational companies to navigate the Irish legal landscape and assist them in daily workplace matters such as recruitment, policies, disciplinary and grievance complaints, investigations, data access requests, redundancies, severance packages and dismissals. I specialise in advising employers on their obligations under the Gender Pay Gap Regulations.
I have extensive experience representing clients in contentious matters before the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court, the Circuit Court and the High Court. I have represented both employers and employees in injunctive proceedings before the Irish High Court. I regularly act for employers in defending unfair dismissal, industrial relations and discrimination claims at the Workplace Relations Commission.
I enjoy working with clients to get pragmatic and commercial solutions in complex employment matters.
