Miika Hiidenhovi

I am a senior associate in our Corporate and M&A group in Helsinki, where I work with our domestic and international clients on venture capital, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions matters.

I assist our clients with venture capital, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions matters. In particular, I have specialised in advising early-stage and growth companies and the venture capital investors who invest in such companies. I regularly advise our clients on both domestic and cross-border venture capital investment rounds. Furthermore, I have advised a number of growth companies throughout their life cycle, including setting up a company, financing, general management advice, ending in selling of the company.

Beyond general corporate law advice, my expertise also includes a variety of executive and employee compensation and retention arrangements. I am also familiar with advising clients on mergers and acquisitions in a wide range of different industries.

In addition to my Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki, I have also completed a Bachelor of Laws degree in England. My international experience gives me an understanding of different legal systems, which enables me to assist our clients effectively in international assignments.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked for a leading international consulting firm, a legal growth company and a large Finnish law firm. Due to my previous work experience, I have a solid understanding of how organisations of various sizes are structured and operate, as well as the types of issues they may encounter in their day-to-day operations.
