Nathalie Steurrijs

I am an intellectual property lawyer specialised in patent related matters, with a strong emphasis on cross border litigation.

I specialize in Dutch and Unified Patent Court (UPC) patent infringement and invalidation cases. I have experience with providing advice and litigation services on matters with cross-border aspects across a wide range of technologies, including life sciences, telecommunications, food, and consumer goods. This diverse experience with complex matters allows me to provide practical and effective solutions tailored to each client's unique needs.

I am very passionate about technology and its advancements, and always eager to learn more. Clients appreciate my dedication to their business objectives and my commitment to providing clear, pragmatic advice. I understand that patent disputes can be complex and challenging. I strive to support my clients through these processes with reliable representation, and thoughtful and strategic guidance, allowing them to focus on their core business and innovation.

Before joining Bird & Bird in 2024, I worked at the Dutch office of an international full-service firm, where I also focused on patent law. This role helped me build a strong foundation in intellectual property law and develop a nuanced understanding of patent litigation.

I am an active member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Chiefs in Intellectual Property (ChIPs) and the Dutch Young Bar Association.
